FAQs

Can I retrofit a MeeFog pre-cooling system to my existing plant?

Yes, our systems are commonly installed as retrofits on existing air-cooled and hybrid condensers. The design team reviews your condenser layout, fan arrangement, structure, and operating data and then specifies nozzle frames, piping, and pump skids that fit your existing equipment with limited downtime.

How does MeeFog control droplet size for condenser applications?

MeeFog uses high-pressure positive-displacement pumps and precision multi-orifice nozzles to create extremely fine droplets. The system compares droplet spectra against conventional nozzles and maintains droplet diameters small enough for rapid evaporation in the available distance. This delivers effective evaporative cooling with minimal risk of water carryover.

Will a MeeFog system affect my condenser or turbine reliability?

Our system operates with very small droplet sizes and precise nozzle placement, so water fully evaporates before reaching sensitive equipment. This design protects turbine blades, condenser tubes, and cooling fans from free water.

What performance gains can I expect from condenser pre-cooling?

By lowering condenser inlet temperature, a MeeFog pre-cooling system can increase turbine output, improve heat rate, and reduce fuel consumption per MWh. Many plants see strong gains during hot and dry periods when condenser performance limits capacity. Actual results depend on your site conditions, existing condenser design, and control strategy.

What is an upstream gas turbine inlet fogging system, and how does it work?

Our upstream gas turbine inlet fogging system uses high-pressure MeeFog nozzles to inject ultra-fine water droplets into the air stream ahead of the gas turbine compressor. The droplets evaporate before the compressor, which cools and densifies the inlet air. That increases the gas turbine power output.

Is the CloudMaker made for occasional use or long-term service?

It is designed with industrial-quality components for long service life. The CloudMaker is a portable system that brings professional fogging technology into a compact, user-friendly format.

Is the CloudMaker portable enough for flexible use?

Yes, the CloudMaker is built as a portable unit with a multi-nozzle sprayer and a 50-foot hose. That makes it easier to move the effect where you want it instead of designing around a fixed installation.

What makes the MeeFog nozzle different?

Each MeeFog nozzle is made from type 316 stainless steel and uses a precision 0.006-inch (150 micrometer) orifice. At 2,000 psi, it produces an average droplet size below 10 micrometers for fast evaporation and impressive visual effects.

Why do smaller droplets matter in a fog effects system?

Smaller droplets have more surface area relative to their size, so they evaporate faster. That helps the CloudMaker create a strong visual plume while supporting cleaner, more efficient fog performance.
