Production of circuit board & large-scale electronic assemblies, such as in the computer manufacturing industry require a particle-free environment. in the cleanroom process, the concentration of airborne particles and electrostatic discharge is controlled to specified limits. These contaminants are generated by people, processes, facilities, and equipment and must be continually removed from the air.

The only way to control contamination is to control the total environment. Air flow rates and direction, pressurization, temperature, humidity and specialized filtration all need to be tightly controlled.
