Electricity is the fastest growing form of energy
consumption, not only in developing countries but
also in the more mature economies of the world. This
fact presents a challenge to operators to improve
output to meet the demands of growth.
Mee Industries is recognized as the world's leader
for gas turbine power augmentation with inlet air
fogging. Many large electric power utilities have
adopted Mee Fog systems for their entire gas turbine
fleet at exisitng and new power generating sites.
For example, in 1998, Tennessee Valley Authority,
installed MeeFog systems on its fleet of 48 gas turbines,
and again in 2001 they added fog to 16 new GE 7EA
turbines. Florida Power & Light has installed
34 fog systems on its fleet of GE 7FA turbines.
Fog cooling is a highly cost-effective way to improve
the output of existing plants and inlet fogging can
make a big difference in the economics of a new plant.
For example the cost per kW of a new plant can be
reduced by as much as 15% simply by adding a Mee Fog
system to the project.
Mee Industries uses a packaged-engineering approach
that makes it possible to deliver and install cost
effective power-boosting fog systems with a typical
project lead time of 12 weeks. Fog systems can be
installed on existing turbines with as little as 24
hours of outage time.
With over
700 installations, and more than 30 years experience
with high-pressure fogging, Mee Industries is the
preferred supplier for major Utilities and Independent
Power Producers (IPPs) around the world.
