The Challenge

The Solution
Proprietary MeeFog™ systems were custom designed and installed to allow fine control over a wider range of temperatures and humidity conditions. One of the largest cogeneration projects in the country, Midland Cogeneration Venture (MCV) is capable of producing up to 1,560 megawatts of electricity and up to 1.35 million pounds per hour of process steam for industrial use. MCV's electrical capacity is a critical energy resource and represents approximately 10% of the power consumption for Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Its primary customer is the nearby Dow Chemical plant. MCV also contracts with Consumers Energy, which distributes power to 1.8 million customers.
MCV's core power generation equipment, among the most reliable technology in the industry, was built by ABB (now Alstom) and General Electric. The massive cogeneration facility is well positioned to add efficient generation capacity necessary to meet the future needs of Michigan and to replace aging coal-fired generation facilities.

The MeeFog™ Skid
The highly reliable, robustly engineered MeeFog™ skid incorporates a system of high-pressure pumps, which pressurize demineralized water. This ultra-clean water flows through a network of stainless steel tubes and then through the revolutionary MeeFog™ nozzles located inside each gas turbine inlet duct. Each self-contained MeeFog™ skid includes a programmable logic controller (PLC) control system that allows the system to operate safely in automatic mode.
Mee Industries' unique turnkey installations are made possible by our proprietary high-pressure MeeFog™ skids, allowing the completion of installations with as little as 1-2 day outages.
